Contractors are preparing bids for the proposed Al-Zawra combined-cycle gas-turbine power plant in Ajman, according to a report published by MEED on August 31.
The plant is planned with generation capacity of between 2,500MW and 2,700MW. At that scale, it would represent a substantial addition to the northern emiratesβ generation infrastructure and require multiple major engineering and equipment packages.
The project is at the competitive proposal stage. Likely workstreams include gas turbines, steam turbines, heat-recovery steam generators, substations, grid connections, water systems and balance-of-plant construction.
The projectβs expected investment value and bid deadline were not disclosed in the public version of the report. Companies considering participation should obtain the formal procurement documents rather than infer a deadline from secondary tender listings.
The capacity range nevertheless makes Al-Zawra one of the largest active power opportunities identified during the review period, with potential roles for international EPC contractors, original-equipment manufacturers and specialist local partners.
