Saudi Arabia qualifies 13 developers for third CCGT IPP round

Saudi Power Procurement Company has qualified 13 Saudi and international companies for the third round of conventional combined-cycle gas-turbine independent power projects. The plants will be developed under build-own-operate structures with long-term power-purchase agreements and readiness for future carbon-capture units. The individual locations, capacities, investment value, RFP timetable and bid deadline have not been disclosed. The qualified field includes TAQA, ACWA Power, EDF, KEPCO, Mitsubishi Power, PowerChina and Sumitomo alongside Saudi developers and utilities.
