Project summary
Saudi Arabia's third CCGT IPP round is progressing beyond developer qualification, with 13 companies reported qualified. The programme uses a build-own-operate structure and provides for future carbon-capture capability, with each successful consortium owning its project company and signing a power purchase agreement with SPPC.

Saudi Press Agency confirms the programme's qualification launch and structure on 13 July 2026. The 13-company result comes from September industry reporting, including MEED on 28 September. No current public bid invitation, Round 3 budget or next-stage deadline was verified; earlier-round capacities and values must not be imported.
