Project summary

ACWA signed a power purchase agreement with the Saudi Power Procurement Company on 16 April 2026 for the Rabigh 2 expansion in the Makkah region. Its official announcement specifies a 2,313.5 MW gas-fired combined-cycle plant and a SAR11.5bn PPA contract value. ACWA holds a 40% equity stake.

What to watch

Construction and delivery milestones, the 380 kV substation expansion, and any separately announced supplier packages. Power-generation equipment, grid integration and engineering disciplines are relevant areas to monitor.

Evidence and access caveats

This is a delivery and supplier-monitoring record, not an open invitation to bid. The SAR11.5bn figure is the PPA contract value, not an EPC package value. Previously reported SAR9.69bn financing has a different basis. New supplier access and package deadlines are unconfirmed.
