STRABAG and Wakud testing biodiesel in Oman, Observer reports

STRABAG and Wakud are testing biodiesel in Oman’s construction equipment, Oman Observer reported on 21 October 2026, citing STRABAG Oman.

The trial is planned to run for about three months, initially using a Caterpillar 966GC wheel loader. Estimated fuel consumption is 27,400 litres of B7 under two-shift working conditions.

Testing will examine fuel use, engine performance, reliability and maintenance needs. Any extension to more machinery will depend on the results, equipment compatibility and reliable fuel supply.
