Sharjah approves 51,200-square-metre Al Freish Lake plan in Kalba

The Ruler of Sharjah has approved the plan for Al Freish Lake in Kalba, advancing a new public-realm and leisure project covering approximately 51,200 square metres.

The planned lake will have water-storage capacity of up to 28 million gallons and approximately 200 parking spaces. It is located behind Al Marsh Square and forms part of wider improvements in the area that include mountain planting, waterfalls, walking and recreation facilities. The approval was announced on 22 September.

No project value, consultant appointment, contractor award or tender timetable has yet been disclosed. The project should therefore be retained for monitoring for design, civil works, water infrastructure, landscaping, parking, public-realm and specialist water-feature packages.
