Saur and Nesma advance two recycled-water plants in Riyadh

Saur and Nesma advance two recycled-water plants in Riyadh

France’s Saur Group and Saudi contractor Nesma & Partners have agreed to design and construct two recycled-water plants in Riyadh, advancing their cooperation in the kingdom’s water sector.

The agreement follows a strategic partnership established by the companies to pursue water and wastewater infrastructure. Their collaboration combines Nesma’s local engineering and construction capabilities with Saur’s water-treatment and operational technologies.

The two facilities are expected to support the reuse of treated water in Riyadh, reducing reliance on potable supplies for applications where recycled water can be used. The companies have not disclosed the proposed capacity, contract value or completion programme.

The development should provide opportunities for treatment-process suppliers, pumping and pipeline contractors, instrumentation providers, electrical contractors and companies specialising in water-quality monitoring.

Further details will be required to establish the project owner, plant locations, procurement arrangements and whether separate downstream construction or equipment packages will be released.
