Salalah signs usufruct agreement for OMR3.85m beverage project

Salalah Free Zone signed a usufruct agreement with Advanced Packaging Company on 12 October for an OMR3.85 million beverage investment in Oman, according to Oman News Agency. The company is affiliated with Saudi Arabia’s Alesayi Holding.

The project will produce carbonated drinks, juices and energy drinks. It combines acquisition of an existing facility with additional land for operations and future expansion, rather than representing an entirely new greenfield construction package.

The reported total site area is approximately 25,500 square metres. The announcement specifies an existing facility on 15,505 square metres of land and an additional 10,000 square metres.

Alesayi said production was expected to begin within six months of the announcement. That is a forecast, not confirmation that the plant is operating. The agreement does not identify an EPC contractor or disclose a construction-contract award.

The company is also studying a separate cardboard-box factory in Muscat and the transfer of another beverage production line to Oman. Those proposals remain under study and are outside the announced Salalah investment.
