Riyadh Cement Company has signed a 25-year agreement with Samana Energy for the purchase of electricity generated from solar energy.
Electricity supply is scheduled to begin during the fourth quarter of 2027. The project supports Riyadh Cementโs efforts to reduce energy costs and emissions while increasing the use of renewable power in its industrial operations.
The generation capacity, project location and agreement value have not been disclosed. The main power-purchase agreement has been committed, but future procurement could include solar equipment, grid connections, battery storage, energy-management technology and operations and maintenance services.
The agreement complements Riyadh Cementโs wider investment in industrial automation and efficiency, creating potential opportunities for companies able to integrate renewable generation with energy-intensive manufacturing facilities.
