QatarEnergy is advancing procurement for the offshore infrastructure supporting the North Field West (NFW) LNG expansion, with contractors preparing bids for major production facilities as Qatar continues to expand its natural gas and LNG infrastructure.
According to project information reported by MEED on 12 August 2026, contractors are preparing bids for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of four offshore production deck modules associated with the North Field West development.
The offshore packages will support the production infrastructure required to supply additional gas to the North Field West LNG facilities. The development forms part of QatarEnergy’s wider programme to expand Qatar’s LNG production capacity and strengthen its position as a major global LNG supplier.
The procurement programme is expected to generate opportunities for international and regional contractors specialising in offshore engineering, fabrication, construction and installation. Additional work is also expected across mechanical and electrical equipment, subsea systems, pipelines, instrumentation and marine support services.
North Field West is part of QatarEnergy’s broader LNG expansion programme. In February 2026, QatarEnergy awarded the main onshore EPC contract for the North Field West project, which is designed to add 16 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG production capacity.
The continued release of offshore packages means the project is now generating a broader pipeline of procurement opportunities covering both onshore and offshore infrastructure.
