The latest tenders, covering marinas, hospitality assets and mixed-use developments, form part of one of the Gulf’s largest urban real estate projects.
Lusail, originally conceived as a flagship city for the World Cup era, is increasingly being repositioned as a long-term commercial and residential hub designed to attract international investors, expatriate professionals and tourism-related businesses. Industry executives said new contract packages were targeting luxury hospitality and waterfront infrastructure segments.
The procurement activity comes amid broader efforts by Qatar to stimulate private-sector investment and increase foreign participation in real estate and tourism sectors. Informed sources said authorities were offering incentives aimed at attracting international developers and hospitality operators. Construction executives said competition for Lusail contracts remained strong because of Qatar’s stable financing environment and reputation for reliable project delivery. European, Turkish and Asian contractors were said to be among the most active bidders.
