OQ and Asyad Advance Green Hydrogen Mobility Project at Duqm

OQ Alternative Energy and Asyad Group have signed an offtake term sheet to advance a green-hydrogen mobility project at Duqm, creating a new link between Oman’s emerging hydrogen-production infrastructure and its transport and logistics sector.
Under the agreement, Asyad will explore using hydrogen produced by OQ Alternative Energy’s green-hydrogen deployment project in Duqm for mobility applications across its logistics operations.
The project represents OQ Alternative Energy’s first end-to-end green-hydrogen deployment scheme and will integrate renewable power, hydrogen production, operations, certification, handling and commercialisation within a single development.
Initial production capacity is planned at up to 400 kilograms of green hydrogen a day. The programme also provides for potential expansion through a dedicated hydrogen-refuelling station at Duqm.
The project is located within the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, allowing hydrogen production and end-use applications to be developed within the same industrial and logistics ecosystem.
The next stage will involve OQ Alternative Energy and Asyad translating the term sheet into a deployment framework. That process is worth monitoring for subsequent engineering, equipment, renewable-power, electrolysis, storage, refuelling and transport-system procurement.
