Ooredoo launches 5G+ mobile network in Qatar

Ooredoo announced on 15 October that it has launched a 5G+ mobile network in Qatar, with the technology deployed at locations across the country and commercially available through mobile broadband in covered areas.

The operator said the network builds on 5G Standalone and 5G Advanced. Its capabilities include network slicing and support for edge computing, real-time monitoring and other business applications.

The announcement did not identify deployment vendors, the number of sites or a capital investment value.
