Oman signs six-month agreement for Wadi Al Kabir dam material removal
Oman’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources signed a six-month agreement on 13 October 2026 for the removal and use of fill material and silt from Wadi Al Kabir dam in Ibri, Al Dhahirah, Oman Daily reported.
The agreement is with رونق الخليج للمشاريع الذهبية. Its six-month term runs from the contract-signing date.
The arrangement covers use of material from the dam’s reservoir under technical and environmental conditions approved by the relevant authorities. The investor intends to supply private-sector customers and individuals with recovered fill and silt for construction and agricultural uses.
The ministry’s stated objectives include improving reservoir performance and increasing the volume of water it can retain during wadi flows, alongside supporting groundwater resources.
The report did not disclose the agreement’s value or the quantities of material to be removed.
