Oman signs RO550m-plus investment agreements at Urban October

Oman has signed tourism, education, property and land-use agreements with announced investments exceeding RO550m at the Urban October event in Muscat.

The agreements were concluded on 7 October, the exhibition’s third day, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, according to Oman News Agency.

The largest is an agreement between the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Dhofar Tourism to develop the Madana integrated tourism complex, with investment exceeding RO400m. Dhofar Tourism is identified as the project’s owner and developer.

Other commitments include the RO78m Tilal Al-Amerat project in Muscat Governorate and an international school at Saraya Bawshar with investment exceeding RO10m. The event also included 85 food-security land-use agreements with announced investments above RO53m.

The figures describe planned investment associated with development and land-use agreements. The announcement does not establish construction contract awards, open bidding windows or contractor appointments for these projects.

For contractors, consultants and suppliers, the next milestones to monitor are project-specific procurement notices, development programmes and the appointment of delivery partners.
