Oman Cables lays foundation stone for third Rusayl plant
Oman Cables Industry has laid the foundation stone for its third manufacturing plant at Al Rusayl Industrial City, according to an Oman News Agency report dated 14 October 2026. Investment in the plant exceeds OMR10 million.
The facility forms part of a wider investment programme exceeding OMR15 million in recent years. That programme figure is separate from the investment attributed to the new plant.
The planned manufacturing capabilities include a 42-metre cable-manufacturing tower and equipment able to handle drums exceeding four metres in diameter and weighing up to 50 tonnes. The company also outlined manufacturing-operations management, predictive maintenance and quality-control systems using artificial intelligence.
The plant is expected to create more than 60 jobs, the report said. Oman Cables’ partnership with Prysmian provides a technical-development and knowledge-sharing context for the expansion.
The report did not name a construction contractor or establish a completion date. The next project milestones to monitor are construction progress, commissioning plans and any separately announced procurement packages.
