Ohana breaks ground on AED15bn Manchester City Yas Residences

Ohana Development has broken ground on Manchester City Yas Residences by Ohana, an AED15bn (US$4.08bn) gated waterfront community on Yas Canal in Abu Dhabi.

The development was launched earlier in 2026 as Manchester City Football Club’s first branded residential project. It is planned to include more than 2,000 apartments, townhouses and villas alongside sports, leisure and waterfront amenities.

The groundbreaking moves the scheme from launch into the construction phase. Ohana’s announcement did not identify the main contractor, disclose individual package values or provide a detailed construction procurement timetable.

The project is expected to create opportunities across civil works, building construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, façades, landscaping, fit-out and specialist leisure facilities as delivery progresses.
