Muttrah coastal-road protection works target April 2027

Muscat Municipality is carrying out OMR3 million of coastal-protection works along Muttrah’s seafront road, according to an Oman News Agency account published by Oman Observer on 18 October 2026.

The first phase covers 268 metres in zones four and five. The report gives a 395-day implementation period and scheduled completion in April 2027.

Works include restoring rock protection, installing concrete piles and breakwater units, repairing walls, and maintaining the road and pavements. Municipality roads engineer Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nabhani said technical inspections and quality checks were continuing.

The report does not name the contractor or give the original award date. The April 2027 target is a reported programme milestone, not a confirmed handover.
