Muscat signs agreement for unified municipal digital system

Muscat Municipality signed an agreement on 13 October 2026 to implement a unified municipal system with شركة التقنية الرائدة, an ITHCA Group subsidiary, according to an Oman News Agency report carried by Oman Daily.

The project will bring municipal services across Oman’s governorates onto an integrated digital platform. The planned service scope includes building licences, tenancy contracts, permits and other municipal transactions.

The municipality said the programme would automate and simplify procedures for individuals and businesses. It also envisages a shared municipal-data system to support urban planning and decision-making, using geospatial information.

The report said this data framework would provide a basis for future use of artificial intelligence and other technologies in municipal services and city management.

The agreement’s financial value and implementation timetable were not disclosed in the report.
