Mekdam Holding Group’s subsidiary has received a letter of award from Qatar’s Public Works Authority for a three-year technical-services contract with a potential value of up to QR262.5m (US$72.1m).
Mekdam Technical Services will provide and second specialised professional personnel to Ashghal’s Designs Department, according to a company statement carried by Qatar News Agency on 4 October.
The contract will run for three years from its commencement date or until the total value of mobilisation orders reaches QR262.5m, whichever occurs first. The disclosed figure is therefore a ceiling rather than a guaranteed order value.
Mekdam said contractual procedures will now be completed in line with the tender requirements, followed by signing and commencement. The number of personnel, disciplines, mobilisation timetable and individual order values were not disclosed.
The award creates a sizeable multi-year requirement for engineering and technical personnel supporting Ashghal’s design work, while actual revenue will depend on the mobilisation orders issued during the contract term.
