MBSat agrees satellite ground-system package with ST Engineering iDirect

Oman’s MBSat has signed an agreement with ST Engineering iDirect for ground infrastructure supporting satellite communications services planned for 2027, Oman Observer reported on 24 October 2026.

The package includes Ka-band gateways, the Intuition baseband platform and Foresight network management, together with service-management tools and integration interfaces.

Training and technical support are also included. The report places the network in Oman and the wider region, serving government, telecommunications and business users.

The agreement’s value and exact signing date were not disclosed in the reviewed report. The 2027 date is a planned service launch, rather than confirmation that operations have begun.
