Kuwait has formally approved an approximately KD5.275 million ($17.2 million) increase to a major road-maintenance contract in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate as the Ministry of Public Works continues its programme to upgrade the country’s road network.
Combined Group Contracting Company (CGC) confirmed on 13 August 2026 that it had officially received Variation Order No. 1 covering its contract for radical maintenance of roadworks in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate — Scope Two.
The variation increases the contract value by 25%, equivalent to KD5.275 million.
The additional works form part of a wider programme of road-maintenance and rehabilitation projects being implemented across Kuwait’s governorates. Government approvals have covered contracts involving internal roads as well as major highway infrastructure.
The programme provides continued opportunities for road contractors and suppliers involved in asphalt works, civil engineering, drainage, utilities, traffic systems and associated infrastructure.
For the construction sector, the variation order provides additional visibility on government spending as existing road-maintenance contracts move through implementation.
