Kalpataru wins $470mn-plus UAE gas-pipeline EPC contract

Kalpataru Projects International Limited has received a letter of award for the engineering, procurement and construction of a gas-pipeline project in the United Arab Emirates.

The Indian contractor classifies the order as β€œmajor”, which under its reporting framework indicates a value exceeding INR40bn, equivalent to about US$470mn. The precise contract value has not been disclosed.

KPIL has not identified the project owner, pipeline route, location within the UAE, length, capacity or delivery programme. Those details will determine the likely requirements for specialist subcontractors, steel pipe, valves, compression equipment, controls, civil works and testing services.

The award expands KPIL’s international oil-and-gas portfolio and follows its earlier entry into large Middle East pipeline work. The letter of award places the project at the EPC contract-award stage, although contract signing and mobilisation details have not been announced.

Commercial attention will centre on disclosure of the client and route, followed by procurement of materials, equipment, construction support and specialist pipeline services.
