Five groups bid for King Salman Bay marine works

Five contracting groups have submitted bids for marine infrastructure works at King Salman Bay, part of Red Sea Global’s waterfront development north of Jeddah, with proposals received on 31 July.

The bidders include Belgium’s Deme with Netherlands-based Archirodon; Dutch marine contractor Van Oord; a local pairing of Abdulmohsen Altamimi with the UAE’s NMDC Group; Qatar’s Urbacon with Egypt’s Negida Contracting; and a local joint venture between Modern Building Leaders and China Harbour Engineering.

The scope covers dredging, earthworks, and quay wall and edge-protection works across roughly 11 kilometres of coastline. King Salman Bay is envisioned as a mixed-use waterfront destination anchored by public-realm improvements, part of Red Sea Global’s wider northern Red Sea portfolio that has already seen a $27m solid waste management contract and a $1.7bn credit facility secured for its Amaala development.
