ENOC and Dubai Municipality explore cooking-oil collection for biodiesel

ENOC Group and Dubai Municipality have signed an agreement to explore a used-cooking-oil collection system linked to biodiesel production, according to a 21 October 2026 WAM report reproduced by Newsweek Arabia.

The proposed system would collect oil from restaurants, businesses and households across Dubai for processing at ENOC’s Jebel Ali plant. Dubai Municipality would coordinate recovery and oversight, while ENOC would contribute fuel-production and supply expertise.

The agreement was signed during WETEX 2026. It establishes an exploratory collaboration; the report does not announce a new processing plant, construction contract, collection tender or implementation deadline.
