CAPT defers decision on KWD73.1m Al-Zour refinery maintenance award, Al-Rai reports

Kuwait’s Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) has postponed its decision on awarding the maintenance services tender for the Al-Zour refinery of Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) to Fawaz Trading & Engineering Services, Al-Rai reported on 1 November 2026. Fawaz submitted the second-lowest price that met the conditions and specifications.

After an arithmetic error was corrected and prices were rebalanced, the proposed award value was revised to about KWD73.138m, from KWD74.502m. No new date for the decision was given.

CAPT also re-examined a separate Al-Zour tender for electrical and precision-instrument maintenance, proposed for the lowest compliant bidder. Al-Rai gives a revised figure of about KWD70.087m (from KWD70.248m) without making clear which tender it refers to. No tender numbers were published, and KIPIC has not announced either award.
