Bahrain Launches Major Healthcare and Infrastructure Tenders

Bahrain has announced two significant government procurement opportunities covering healthcare infrastructure and public utilities, reinforcing continued investment in essential services and creating new opportunities for contractors, engineering consultants and specialist service providers.

The Ministry of Health has invited bids for a comprehensive contract covering the maintenance, construction and expansion of 11 hospital and healthcare facility groups across the Kingdom.

Issued under Tender No. M.Kh.A./7/2026/2027, the project encompasses civil, mechanical and electrical works required to maintain existing healthcare facilities while supporting future expansion and upgrading programmes. The tender is designed to provide the Ministry with a framework for delivering improvement works across multiple healthcare sites as requirements arise.

The bid submission deadline for the healthcare tender was 14 July 2026, with the project expected to support the continued modernization of Bahrain’s public healthcare infrastructure. The contract is anticipated to generate work for construction companies, building maintenance specialists, MEP contractors, engineering consultants and medical facility infrastructure providers. In a separate procurement initiative, the Ministry of Works has also invited contractors to bid for a new sewerage scheme serving Blocks 730 to 740 in A’ali.

The project forms part of the government’s ongoing programme to expand and upgrade Bahrain’s wastewater infrastructure in support of residential growth and urban development. Works are expected to include the construction of new sewer networks, pipelines, manholes, associated utility connections and reinstatement works aimed at improving wastewater collection capacity and supporting future development within the area. The sewerage project is expected to attract civil engineering contractors with expertise in underground utilities, drainage systems, road reinstatement and municipal infrastructure.

Both tenders reflect Bahrain’s continued commitment to investing in public infrastructure, with healthcare modernization and utility expansion remaining key priorities under the government’s capital development programme. Together, the projects offer new business opportunities for contractors, consultants and suppliers serving the Kingdom’s construction and infrastructure sectors.

Industry observers note that Bahrain’s Tender Board continues to maintain a steady pipeline of public-sector procurement across healthcare, municipal services, utilities and transport infrastructure, providing consistent opportunities for both local and regional companies.
