The projects include beachfront resorts, entertainment facilities and mixed-use tourism districts designed to attract higher-spending international and regional visitors. Industry executives said the contracts reflected growing confidence in Bahrain’s tourism potential following post-pandemic recovery across Gulf travel markets.
The procurement activity comes amid broader Gulf competition over tourism, entertainment and hospitality investment as governments search for alternatives to hydrocarbon-driven growth. Analysts said Bahrain’s smaller scale could work in its favour by allowing more targeted tourism strategies.
Developers and hotel operators said Bahrain continued to attract interest because of its liberal social environment and strong weekend tourism flows from Saudi Arabia. Informed sources said additional entertainment and marina developments were under consideration.
