Ashghal starts QAR418m Izghawa and Al Thumaid package
Qatar’s Public Works Authority, Ashghal, announced on 12 October that construction had commenced on the second roads and infrastructure package in Izghawa and Al Thumaid, at a cost of approximately QAR418 million.
The package will serve approximately 771 plots alongside schools, commercial premises, mosques and other facilities. Qatar News Agency identifies the development as the second package, corroborating the operative text of Ashghal’s announcement.
The works include about 23 kilometres of roads and 30 kilometres of pedestrian and cycle routes, together with street lighting and parking. Utility works cover stormwater drainage, sewerage and treated-effluent networks. Delivery is divided into three sequential zones.
This is a construction-stage update. The announcement does not identify the contractor, establish a separate contract-award date or provide a new invitation to tender. A precise mobilisation date and package completion date were not disclosed in the reviewed announcement.
