Qatar’s Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has re-awarded eight delayed infrastructure projects to new contractors as it prepares to restart the remaining works. The authority announced the development on 7 October, without identifying the companies or disclosing contract values.

The portfolio includes six residential roads and infrastructure schemes serving around 6,360 plots. Locations include Al Kharaitiyat and Izghawa, Al Kheesa North and East–Rawdat Al Hamama, Al Meshaf West, Al Mearad and Muaither Southwest, and Al Sheehaniya.

Two further schemes cover a main sewer connecting Al Shahhaniya to Doha North Sewage Treatment Works and a treated sewage effluent pipeline along the Orbital Highway, between Dukhan Road and the treatment works.

Ashghal said the first re-awarded package is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2027. The latest reassignment follows the resumption of work on 13 other projects since April 2025.

The update places these packages at the delivery stage. It contains no fresh invitation to bid or details of subcontract enquiries.
